This course aims to educate dental professionals about anaphylaxis, its causes, symptoms, and treatment, including:

  • Understanding anaphylaxis triggers, such as food, drugs, and other factors
  • Identifying the symptoms of anaphylaxis and differentiating it from other medical emergencies
  • Step-by-step management of anaphylaxis, including administering adrenaline, oxygen therapy, and transferring the patient to the hospital
  • Using adrenaline auto-injectors and the appropriate doses of adrenaline

By completing this course, dental professionals will be able to recognise and manage anaphylaxis, improving patient safety and potentially saving lives. They will also learn how to conduct debriefings and significant event analysis to improve their practice’s performance during medical emergencies.
