This Level 2 Safeguarding course has been designed to teach dental professionals about safeguarding vulnerable individuals from abuse and neglect, with a focus on children and adults at risk. Topics covered in the course include defining harm and neglect, safeguarding measures, legal frameworks, and responsibilities. Lessons learned from various scandals and cases are examined, including the Victoria Climbié, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, Peter Connelly, and Winterbourne View cases. Guidance documents for working with children and adults at risk are also reviewed.
By completing this course, dental professionals will gain knowledge and skills to recognise, prevent, and report abuse and neglect, as well as meet the safeguarding standards outlined by various organisations.
