This course aims to educate dental professionals about various topics linked to ethical considerations in dental research. By completing this course, participants will gain an understanding of epidemiological studies, shaping policy decisions, good practices, new product and process development, research ethics committees, informed consent, and balancing risk and benefit in research. The course emphasises the importance of ethical considerations in dental research, patient autonomy, and protecting patients’ best interests. Additionally, the course provides insight into how ongoing research can enhance oral health education, tackle oral cancer, raise awareness about the impact of sugar on oral health, and promote water fluoridation schemes. Finally, participants will learn how to disseminate research findings through various channels such as conferences, journals, and media interviews to improve oral health outcomes.
