This course provides comprehensive knowledge of dental radiography, covering topics such as X-ray production, image production, film and digital imaging detectors, digital image manipulation, intra-oral radiography techniques, CBCT imaging, and referral criteria for dental radiography. By completing this course, dental professionals will be able to identify different techniques used in intra-oral radiography, evaluate key features of intra-oral radiography units and digital detectors, and understand the principles and application of panoramic and cephalometric radiography. Additionally, they will gain knowledge about the production of characteristic X-rays and the interactions between X-rays and matter, as well as the importance of referral criteria for dental radiography and its role in patient care.
